The Valorisation office was established in 2007 and offers services in Grants and Funding, Business Development and Legal Support. Currently the department consists of 21 experts and is headed by Dirkjan Masman. The department evaluates over 1400 contracts, 14 invention disclosures and supports the founding of 3 spin-off companies on a yearly basis.
The Grants and Funding team of the Valorization Office supports researchers and entrepreneurs at Radboud university medical center in acquiring funding from national and international sources. The team also coordinates complex grant projects and is the initial contact point for funding bodies and companies.
Radboud university medical center encourages entrepreneurship among its employees. Within the Valorisation Office, the Business Development team helps to make successful matches between researchers and partners in the business community. The team supports business and product development in the area of Life Sciences & Health, and coordinates the interaction between internal and external parties, for instance between legal experts, patent attorneys, financial specialists and commercial parties.
Through cooperation agreements (collaborative research), patents, intellectual property protection, licensing and spin-off businesses, the medical center aims to valorize and market its expertise.
