How we achieve our mission
Excellent qualityEvery patient is entitled to the best care at all times. We make the quality of our care visible and transparent by analyzing it and making the results public. That is why we can say that we offer excellent quality. We analyze and publicize the quality of our efforts within, among others, cardiac surgery and oncology. The number of diseases we do this for is continually increasing.
And by establishing the Institute for Ensuring Quality and Safety (IWKV), which uses internal audits, we are able to keep an eye on the quality and safety of all our processes regarding patient care, care services and clinical research.
Participatory and personalized healthcareEvery patient is entitled to the best care at all times. This applies to the way in which care is managed as well as given. But what is generally considered the best care for patients, is not by definition the best care for an individual. We believe in personalized healthcare. The patient gets to determine how far he can and wants to participate in determining his own treatment. Together we are responsible for the treatment.
Personalized healthcare means that, as much as possible, we adjust the diagnostics and treatments to the specific characteristics and needs of the patient.
Operational excellenceEvery patient is entitled to the best care at all times. In order to be able to provide the best care, our management must meet the right conditions so that we can efficiently operate throughout the entire healthcare process. It is important that we use our resources efficiently.
When talking about efficiency, we believe that, for example, the first-time-right principle is important. This simply means getting it right the first time round. This will improve the quality and decrease wasted time and effort, both within and outside Radboudumc.
Sustainable networksEvery patient is entitled to the best care at all times. Even better results for patients and society are achieved thanks to collaborations between professionals in the region, nation, Europe or the rest of the world. Our network knows no borders. Our collaborations help us expand our knowledge which we can later share which in turn increases knowledge again and so on.
In our treatment program this is already the norm. Our ultimate goal for the patient is to make sure that there are no (backward) referrals, but that there is continuous treatment within our network, for example, by the same team at a different location. In addition, the patient will also be there where his concerns can best be addressed. Regardless of whether that is at Radboudumc or elsewhere.
