About this seminarWhy attend?
Because this is a unique opportunity to learn about recent developments of biofunctional scaffolds and cell-based implantable devices for repair and regeneration.
About the speaker:
Dimitrios I. Zeugolis is Director of the Regenerative, Modular & Developmental Engineering Laboratory (REMODEL) and Principal Investigator of the Centre for Research in Medical Devices (CÚRAM) at NUI Galway, Ireland and Visiting Professor at the University of Ioannina, Greece. Dimitrios is President of Matrix Biology Ireland (MBI) and Editorial Committee member of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS).
His research group operates in the following four major areas:
- Bottom-up and top-down scaffold fabrication technologies for the development of implantable devices;
- Medical device functionalisation to provide functional therapeutic interventions for the treatment of soft and hard tissue injuries and degenerative conditions;
- Modulation of the in vitro microenvironment;
- Development of scaffold and scaffold-free in vitro pathophysiology models for drug and gene screening purposes.
