Debby Gerritsen Ode aan kwetsbaarheidOn Tuesday 29 September Debby Gerritsen will give her oration 'Ode aan kwetsbaarheid' as part of her appointment as professor of Well-being for vulnerable elderly people and people with chronic diseases in long-term care. Debby: 'There is a great need from the care sector for methods for a positive approach to this group that can be applied in long-term care. After all, the (apparent) absence of problems does not mean that someone is automatically doing well. An important goal of long-term care is to ensure that someone who is vulnerable, feels good and is satisfied. But how to achieve this in a way that does justice to each individual is a complex search for a balance between self-reliance and togetherness'. In the coming years Debby will focus on increasing knowledge about how wellbeing works and can be supported.
The inaugural lecture will take place at De Vereeniging in Nijmegen and will start at 15.45 hours.
