The expert center plays a national consultancy role for the KNCV Tuberculosis Fund and the Dutch Association of physicians for lung diseases and tuberculosis (NVALT). Healthcare professionals, such as pulmonologists, internists and other medical specialists, municipal health physicians in tuberculosis prevention, and general practitioners are able to obtain information and advice here.

Our scientific research combines basic science with pharmacology, microbiology, radiology, infectiology, and lung diseases. The knowledge gained contributes to expertise regarding the diagnosis and treatment of patients with tuberculosis and NTM infections. We focus on drug treatment, mycobacterial diagnosis, and inflammation and susceptibility. 

Research theme Infectious Diseases en Global Health

The scientific research into TBC and NTM falls under the research theme Infectious Diseases and Global Health and takes place in the research institutes Radboud Institute for Health Sciences and Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences.

PanACEA

Radboud university medical center is the initiator of an international partnership of scientists from 14 countries and 16 institutions who pursue improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of TBC and NTM.

The expertise center for Tuberculosis and NTM has the TBC unit most technically advanced in hygiene and treats Tuberculosis patients from across the Netherlands and sometimes from well beyond its borders. read more
