EWOPA Renal Child is a multidisciplinary group interested in the psychosocial welfare of children with chronic kidney disease.
The 51st EWOPA annual meeting will be held onsite at the Amalia Children’s Hospital, Radboud University Medical Centre in Nijmegen on Friday, 13th May and Saturday, 14th May 2022.
This meeting was postponed in 2020 and 2021 because of COVID-19. To ensure that the 2022 meeting will happen, we decided to shorten the meeting and allow for onsite as well as online registration.
The aim of this meeting is to provide a forum for learning, discussion and networking with the focus on psychosocial issues in the treatment of children with chronic kidney disease.
This meeting will be a bit shorter than the usual EWOPA meeting, but in the usual EWOPA tradition, we will organize a social event with dinner on Friday evening. (for those who register for the meeting, you will be informed at a later date about the dinner/social event, which is optional). For those arriving on Thursday evening, we will provide an informal get-together at one of our local cafes (at own cost).
We know how important the face-to-face contact and interactive discussion is for the EWOPA topics and we aim to make this possible with an exciting mix of speakers, workshops, oral presentations, case discussions. For the online participants, we will be using technology to encourage interaction and participation.
About Nijmegen; it is the Netherlands’ oldest city and the centre is bursting with unique historical sites. The city walk will take you back in time to a period stretching from the Roman Empire to the Second World War, and you will pass green urban parks and interesting museums. But Nijmegen offers more than just a rich cultural heritage; the huge student population, numerous events and festivals, unique hotspots and ever-growing number of lively lunchrooms all help to create an irresistible vibe in the city. Feel the sand between your toes on a fabulous city beach situated along the banks of the River Waal, or watch the world go by from one of the countless pavement cafés.
