Bert Siebers' research activities lie in the field of cervical cancer screening, with a focus on monitoring and evaluation of existing guidelines within the screening program and accuracy and effectiveness of new techniques and methods in cervical cancer screening. Examples are new screening methods, triage of low-grade cervical abnormalities with molecular markers, quality assurance of the screening process with rapid prescreening and the development of instruments and indicators for process evaluation. Beside that he is posted twice a week at PALGA where he is working on the preparation, optimalisation and production of the 'PALEBA' research database for monitoring of the Cervical Cancer Screening Program by Erasmus University (MGZ) and RIVM.
