Floris van Dalen PhD candidate

Floris his PhD work will focus on the development of small molecule inhibitors targeted at cysteine cathepsins. These endo/lysosomal proteases are highly upregulated in human carcinomas and the aim is to exploit this elevated cathepsin-activity to conceive a self-regulated drug delivery system.

Floris van Dalen PhD candidate

Floris van Dalen obtained his Master's degree in Chemistry at the University of Leiden. His thesis focused on using chemical tools to elucidate the molecular wheelwork of retrograde signaling in the brain. His PhD work will focus on the development of small molecule inhibitors targeted at cysteine cathepsins. These endo/lysosomal proteases are highly upregulated in human carcinomas and the aim is to exploit this elevated cathepsin-activity to conceive a self-regulated drug delivery system.
