Frank Hoentjen assistant professorFrank Hoentjen is a gastroenterologist with a specific interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. In addition to excellent patient care, he aims at improving treatment and quality of life for IBD patients. The general aim of his research is to optimize immunosuppressive therapies in order to achieve better disease control in IBD patients. Targets include thiopurine therapy and anti-TNF therapy. A second field of expertise includes intestinal malignancies in IBD.
