Jessie van Buggenum PhD candidate

After finishing my bachelor degree in Biology and master degree in Molecular Mechanisms of disease I started my PhD in the group of Klaas Mulder at the Department of Molecular Developmental Biology. The main project of my PhD is developing a novel method that allows detection of more than 60 proteins or signalling events simultaneously, from hundreds of samples. The first step in this project was to couple antibodies with ‘DNA-barcodes’. We have obtained encouraging results, which have been published in Scientific Reports. The second step is to use next generation DNA sequencing for high-throughput experiments.

Field of study

Molecular Biology

Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences

Our main aim is to achieve a greater understanding of the molecular mechanisms of disease. By integrating fundamental and clinical research, we obtain multifaceted knowledge of (patho)physiological processes. read more
