I am urogynaecologist and associate professor, working at the Radboud University MC Nijmegen since 2005. In 2007 I have defended my PhD thesis on laparoscopic hysterectomy and postoperative recovery. Since then the research line focussed on urogynaecology: clinical evaluation studies, imaging, genetics in urogynaecology and more recently cell-matrix interactions. I have supervised nine PhD theses. A second focus is on pediatric gynaecology and especially surgery of congenital anomalies.
Ideally, every procedure in clinical practice and public health should take place based on proof, instead of intuition or 'experience'. Our aim is to innovate and personalize healthcare and public health.
