This program on elderly care medicine consists of 6 sub-programs with three disease-oriented programs regarding people with late and young onset dementia and neurological disorders and three more symptom or functional based programs on mental health issues, palliative care and nursing research.
The aim of the program on elderly care medicine is to develop and evaluate (complex) interventions in frail elderly and people with chronic diseases with complex health problems in order to improve quality of care for these people.
Ideally, every procedure in clinical practice and public health should take place based on proof, instead of intuition or 'experience'. Our aim is to innovate and personalize healthcare and public health.
As part of the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour – the Donders Center for Medical Neuroscience is devoted to understanding the mechanistic underpinnings of human cognition and behavior in health and disease.
