CompositionThe Internal Advisory Board (IAB) consists of 9 members:
- 7 RIMLS senior researchers
- 1 RIMLS postdoctoral (vice) chair of the Radboud Postdoc Initiative
- 1 RIMLS doctoral candidate (vice) chair of the RIMLS PhD council
The senior researchers occupy important positions in departments hosting many RIMLS researchers, have an important role in a relevant master's program (MSc Molecular Mechanisms of Disease, MSc Biomedical Sciences, MSc Molecular Life Sciences or MSc Medical Biology), in the RIMLS Graduate School (supervising PhDs) and have good contacts with external stakeholders. The advisory board has both clinical and non-clinical members.
Members are selected by the RIMLS director after consultation with the IAB.
Working methodThe IAB meets at least four times a year. The members of the IAB and the Management Team (MT) of the RIMLS (scientific director and policy advisers) are present.
Members of the IAB may request the MT to put an item on the agenda. At the end of the meeting, members will receive a list of action points from the meeting for approval. Between meetings, the MT will keep the IAB informed of further developments and may ask the IAB members for advice by e-mail.
The IAB consults the Patient Advisory Board (PAR) on a regular basis.
Status Internal Advisory BoardThe IAB provides solicited and unsolicited advice to the Scientific Director.
Terms of officeThe term of office is three years. Members can be reappointed once.
The Internal Advisory Board advises the RIMLS Scientific Director regarding short- and long-term research strategy, PhD program, national and international collaborations and visibility of the institute. The board meets four times a year.
