Radboud Excellence Fellowships

The twenty Radboud Excellence fellowships are intended for non-Dutch researchers based outside the Netherlands who have obtained their doctorates between two and twelve years ago. They will be selected on the basis of their academic record, as well as a promising and original research plan.

Radboud Excellence Fellowships

The Radboud Excellence Initiative is a joint enterprise of Radboud University and Radboudumc. Promising researchers who have completed their doctorate between two and twelve years at the point of nomination may be nominated for a Fellowship. Prospective members of the Radboud Excellence Initiative must be nominated by an employee of Radboudumc who has either won a prestigious grant or is a member of an esteemed international organization. Nomination and selection of new candidates take place twice a year. Once nominated and selected, Fellows may come to Radboudumc to undertake research for a maximum of two years.

Members of the Radboud Excellence Initiative:
  • receive attractive remuneration or prizes
  •  are taken care of from the date they are officially selected.
  • receive guidance on all practicalities of moving to and living in the Netherlands from the Excellence Hospitality Team while an interesting and fun social program ensures that they receive the most from this once in a lifetime experience.
By the end of their stay in the Netherlands, Fellows will find themselves part of a tight-knit exclusive community which fosters interdisciplinary academic curiosity.

(Junior) Principal investigators

Prominent researchers and lecturers who play a leading role in higher education or the degree programs offered at Radboudumc can be appointed as principal investigators (PI), principal lecturers (PL) or junior PIs or PLs. This designation remains valid for a period of three years. read more

Travel grants

Each research institute has travel grants available for work-related travel (e.g. conference, work placement) expenses.

TURBO grants

The University of Twente and Radboudumc have set up the Twente University RadBoudumc Opportunities (TURBO) program. Together they will supply four TURBO grants, in two rounds. read more

Travel to Barcelona RIMLS-IRB

In the context of internationalization RIMLS and the Institute for Research in Biomedicine in Barcelona have agreed to collaborate in each other's research and educational programs and PhD candidates and postdocs of RIMLS might be able visit the institute in Spain.
