Sell Your Science Policy Day 2020

Twitter, LinkedIn, Infographics for your social outreach? Press releases? These were some of the themes presented on this years Policy Day.

René Bindels kicked of the afternoon by looking back on a highly successful 2019 and gave a peek preview into the highlights of the coming year. Subsequently, a carrousel displaying various interesting topics of social outreach was organized. It was explained how to update your LinkedIn profile and make more valuable connections. Making a trending tweet difficult? Not if you listened carefully to the tips and tricks that were given. Nervous for your layman’s lecture? No need, various examples were given and ready and easy to use. The Kidney Patient Society of the Radboudumc explained their communications strategy and there was also the possibility to learn more about the interesting side of press releases. And last but not least there was an introduction to the creative world of infographics. After the break everyone made a start with his/her own favorite topic of social outbreak.

The Annual Physiology Award was presented to Jenny van der Wijst and Thijs Eijsvogels for their ongoing work to improve the ICT facilities of our department in general and in particular the FAIR research data storage. The latter point, was due their efforts, significantly improved in 2019.  



It was an inspiring afternoon, full of team spirit, positive energy, new possibilities, professional knowledge and socializing.
