Aortic disorders are an important cause of morbidity and mortality. Despite the relatively high absolute number of patients suffering from (thoracic) aortic pathology, few monogenetic causes are known to date. More knowledge about the pathogenesis of aortic disorders is relevant to properly screen and treat patients and their families. The ambition of AortaBank is to store biomaterial and associated clinical data of all patients who undergo operations on the Aorta(valve) to enable future research into new treatment methods.
