Awarded KWF grants for Radboudumc researchers

The gap in mortality between older and younger CRC patients has been bridged
25 June 2019In European Journal of Cancer, Nelleke Brouwer, Thea Zonneveld-Heil and colleagues showed that differences in postoperative mortality between older and younger patients with stage I-III colorectal cancer decreased. 1-year postoperative RS was almost equal for older and younger patients in 2015-2016.

Three VIDI grants for RIMLS researchers
24 May 2019Matthijs Jore, Daniele Tauriello and Johannes Textor are each to receive up to 800,000 euros to develop an innovative research theme and to build up their own research group. NWO is awarding the Vidi grant as part of the Innovational Research Incentives Scheme.

Universal tumor BRCA1/2 testing of ovarian cancer
13 May 2019Marjolijn Ligtenberg, Janet Vos and Nicoline Hoogerbrugge, assessed the feasibility of a workflow for universal tumor DNA BRCA1/2 testing of all newly diagnosed OC patients as prescreen for PARPi treatment and cancer predisposition testing. They have published their findings in the JNCI.

Valentine’s day spectacle at the Radboud Research Rounds
21 February 2019This year’s Valentine’s day in the Radboudumc was focused on the RRR of the Tumors of the Digestive Tract. In the biannual Paper Award session the big prize went to Daniel Garza from the Center for Molecular and Biomolecular Informatics, for his paper on “the environmental metabolome”.
