Job description

To further strengthen our Grant Support Office, part of the Department of Valorization, we are looking for a Grant Advisor to support researchers in the Radboud Institute for Health Sciences (RIHS). Support by the Grant Support Office targets most of the available external grant programs and funding sources. Support and advise is primarily aimed at the acquisition and the pre-award phase of the project life cycle (proposal – or project development), project management is not a main task of the Grant Support Office.
Tasks and responsibilities
  • Identifying, monitoring and analyzing external developments regarding availability of research funds in the Netherlands and abroad;
  • Inform, advise and match researchers pro-actively with respect to funding opportunities;
  • Advising, guiding and supporting researchers with writing of the project proposal (e.g. development process, general proposal parts, budget) and the accompanying administrative preparations as appropriate;
  • Consulting with relevant staff members and project partners (project leader, financial controller, business developer, external parties involved) on the design of the proposal and monitoring of progress of the proposal development process;
  • Identifying opportunities for (knowledge) valorisation and initiate the necessary follow up steps.


  • At least two years of postdoc experience in the field of Health Sciences (Clinical Research, Epidemiology, Health decision making etc);
  • You are well acquainted with the national and international university world and the national and European subsidy landscape; 
  • Recognizable experience with writing of grant applications;
  • Preferably some relevant work experience with grant advising, supporting grant acquisition and reviewing project proposals; 
  • Has excellent organizational skills, works project-based and is capable of managing a substantial number of application processes simultaneously; 
  • Is a team-player, customer oriented,  and works towards results; 
  • Has excellent writing and communication skills, both in Dutch and English.


Department of Valorization
The Department of Valorization consists of a group of around 20 dedicated professionals divided over 4 teams, Grant Support Office (GSO), Business Development, Legal Affairs and Regional Development. These teams advise and facilitate Radboudumc employees and partners in the field of (bio)medical fundamental, translational, preclinical and clinical research, biomedical technology and healthcare innovations.
Radboud Institute for Health Sciences
The Radboud Institute for Health Sciences (RIHS) is one of the three KNAW accredited research institutes of the Radboudumc, and one of the 15 of the Radboud University. The mission of the RIHS is to innovate and personalize healthcare and public health. It does so by:
  • Developing, testing and applying tests, treatments, and policies as well as innovative modes of health care delivery; 
  • Developing new methodology to facilitate the research in this field; 
  • Training young researchers in the methodology that is needed to be successful in this field.
The research is typically probabilistic or qualitative in nature and covers a large part of the clinical, translational, public health and implementation research of the Radboudumc. In total, RIHS houses approx. 1600 researchers (almost 600 fte) and delivers almost 100 PhD theses per year.

Employment conditions

  • Depending on expertise and experience, salary classification will be conform salary scale 10 (maximum € 4.216) or salary scale 11 (maximum € 4.917) gross per month, based on a 36-hour work week (1 FTE);
  • We initially offer an appointment for 12 months, with the prospect of extension;
  • Upon commencement of employment we require a certificate of conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag, VOG) and there will be, depending on the type of job, a screening based on the provided cv. Radboud university medical center’s HR Department will apply for this certificate on your behalf;
