Terms and Conditions
Radboudumc employees fall under the collective labor agreement for university medical centres, which you can download here.
Aon offers employees of Radboudumc insurance with a discount of up to 20%. This discount is also for your family. Aon offers insurances like:
- car, contents and liability
- travel and legal counsel
Aside from your monthly salary and an annual vacation allowance of 8%, you will also receive an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%. If you work irregular hours you will also receive an allowance (47% or 72%). In August 2019 the salaries will increase by 2,75%. In August 2020 they will increase again by 3,0%. You can download the salary scale overview here.
By exchanging certain terms and conditions of employment you can end up paying less tax, which is a major advantage. For example, you can exchange your end-of-year bonus, vacation allowance, or a portion of your salary for the purchase of a bicycle, or a reimbursement of the contribution to a trade union or professional association.
Reimbursement of commuting costsEmployees may choose to trade their gross vacation allowance, or a portion thereof, for a net reimbursement of commuting costs, resulting in a tax advantage. Employees only need to request the exchange once (preferably at the beginning of employment), as it will continue to be in effect for future years. Additionally, if you used public transport for at least 70% of your travel days during a period of at least two months, you are entitled to a public transport premium. The gross public transport premium equals 20% of the free reimbursement of commuting costs as calculated in the Employment Conditions Selection Model.
Bicycle PlanOnce every five years the Radboudumc Bicycle Plan offers you the opportunity to purchase a bicycle for use in commuting to and from work. Purchasing a bicycle under the Employment Conditions Selection Model can provide you with a substantial tax advantage. In addition, you will receive a one-time bicycle bonus of € 150.
Trade Union or professional association contribution reimbursementUnder the Employment Conditions Selection Model, you can exchange gross salary for a net reimbursement of the contribution for a trade union or professional association, resulting in a tax advantage.
Radboudumc offers its employees the choice between two collective health insurances; both of which offer attractive discounts for employees and their families. Both health insurances offer attractive discounts for employees and their families.Lippmann, OOM and AON.
All employees are signed up with the ABP pension fund. Radboudumc pays 70% of your premium. The remaining amount is deducted from your gross salary by payroll on a monthly basis.
You accrue pension on your gross salary up to a maximum of € 107,593 (2019 price level). This is called the pensionable salary cap. If you earn more, you can voluntarily pay contributions into a net deferred annuity. This is possible with the ABP net pension scheme, but you can also opt for a different solution. You are free to choose the solution you want.
All employees receive disability insurance free of charge. You automatically receive the basic package, unless you opt out of it in writing within two months following employment. There is also an option to take out a supplementary disability insurance.
As a full-time employee at Radboudumc, you are entitled to approximately 23 vacation days a year. In addition, there sevennational holidays every year in the Netherlands. There are also statutory types of leave, such as parental leave and care leave.
Our collective labor agreement entitles you to paid leave for certain personal events. Situations may also arise where you make agreements with your supervisor regarding extra, unpaid leave.
Facilities and other opportunities
Employees and students at Radboudumc can make use of a number of facilities.
PV Radboud is the staff association for all current and retired employees of Radboudumc and Radboud University.
Staff associationPartners of PV Radboud members are also welcome to become members. PV Radboud has over 7,000 members and organizes all sorts of member activities and offers nice discounts.

This is a fund by and for employees. Its goal is to offer employees of Radboudumc and Radboud University financial when they are going through rough times.
The various sports and leisure we can offered are offered by the Radboud PV staff association and/or the Radboud Sports Centre. Sport activities can also partly be paid for with your personal budget.
Radboudumc has various parking garages and bicycle shelters.
Parking and bicycle sheltersYou will have to pay a contribution through your salary if you use the parking facilities between 6.00 and 15.00 hrs on weekdays. The fee depends on your commute distance.
The bicycle shelters also offer various charging options for electric bikes.

There is a bicycle shop located on the Radboudumc grounds. Besides repairs, they also sell new and used bicycles and accessories.
There are five company bicycles available: three normal bicycles, one bamboo bicycle, and one electric bike. These can come in handy if you have a meeting outside Radboudumc.
Housing corporation SSH& provides temporarily housing for Radboudumc employees and guest employees.
- The Guesthouse is intented for new employees or guest employees at Radboudumc (and all institutes associated such as the Donders Institute). Employees who are working at Radboudumc for a longer time, but temporarily have no living space, are welcome as well.
- The Gueshouse offers housing for a period of 1 month (minimum) up to 1 year (maximum).
- Proof of income is obliged.
- It doesn't matter where you come from, or how far away you currently live.
- The Guesthouse is situated on campus on the Heijendaalseweg (Platolaan). It forms a part of a larger residential complex named Sterrenbosch.
Radboudumc also has a restaurant for employees, which also offers warm meals at both lunch and dinnertime.
Kinderopvang Heyendael offers flexible care according to parents’ schedule. It is located on the Radboud University campus and therefore near Radboudumc.
A Quiet Room (Stiltecentrum) for meditation and prayer, as well as a Muslim Prayer Room, is located near the main entrance of the hospital.
Radboud In’to Languages offers several methods of learning Dutch, as well as a variety of other languages and communication courses.
Employees traveling abroad for work, study, or vacation can visit the Radboud Travel Clinic for health advice and vaccinations. The clinic has affordable prices and is located on campus.
