The Radboud Consortium for Glycoscience (RCG) organizes a series of seminars on various glycoscience-related topics. We regularly invite speakers from other (Dutch and non-Dutch) research institutions to exchange ideas and research directions. For our upcoming RCG Science Meeting on October 6th at 16:00, we are excited to welcome Dr. Celso Reis from i3S/Ipatimup at the University of Porto as our guest speaker.

Dr. Celso Reis studies the role of glycosylation in human cancer, focusing on how glycosyltransferases control cancer-associated glycans and influence tumour growth, invasion, metastasis, and interactions with the immune system. His research also explores glycans and glycoconjugates as biomarkers for cancer detection and patient stratification, as well as potential targets for therapy.
The title of his talk will be: "The diversity and functionality of the cancer glycome: molecular mechanisms and clinical implications".
