Agenda Symposium on experimental research in surgical specialties

23 January 2026

Theme: “Armed for the future”

As a doctor or researcher, how do you prepare for the current military threat? How is care for war trauma organized? And what innovations are already being applied?

Our three keynote speakers, Tim de Jong (plastic surgeon), Thomas Maal (3D technology), and  Vincent Stirler (military trauma surgeon) are part of a multidisciplinary team that specializes in the care and treatment of complex war trauma, including from Ukraine. In three inspiring keynotes, they will show how this care is organized and how they use 3D-printed models, AI-driven planning, and microsurgical techniques to provide customized care.

Armed for the future means more than just the threat of war and military trauma. During SEOHS 2026, we will also look ahead: how do we prepare our healthcare system for the challenges of tomorrow?

Would you like to learn from this team and make your own scientific contribution to arming ourselves for the future?

Symposium is in Dutch.
