This year, our annual Midsummer Night Event, organized by the Radboudumc Research Institute for Medical Innovation, will take place on 17 June. All Radboudumc PhD candidates and postdocs are welcome to attend this event. The event is specially for you to meet fellow young researchers, celebrate the summer, temporarily forget about deadlines and, of course, have fun!
The program starts after the Research Strategy Day for senior researchers and kicks off with a ceremony where the PhD Supervision, Envision and Open Science awards will be presented. After the ceremony, you can enjoy an interesting workshop, followed by drinks and a BBQ.
Registration is required before 3 June!

This year we are distributing the well-known PhD Supervision award as well as the Envision award and the Open Science Award:
- PhD Supervision award 2026: PhD candidates are invited to nominate their promotor (full professors and associate professors with ius promovendi)
- Envision award - Image of the Year 2026: Radboudumc researchers and research groups are invited to submit one photo that reflects their research in a meaningful, interesting or visually striking way. This can be many things: a beautiful microscope image, a strong picture from a lab or clinical setting, a moment during your research, a visual of a technology or method, or a photo that says something about why your work matters. The aim is simple: show us one image that helps others understand, feel or imagine your research.
- Open Science Award 2026: We invite nominations of groups affiliated with Radboudumc who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to Open Science. In 2026, the award will specifically recognise contributions in the area of Citizen Science.
Deadline for submission of nominations for the three awards is Tuesday 19 May 2026!
