Amalia Science Day 2027

On Friday, 29 January 2027, the next edition of the Amalia Science Day will take place.  

On this day, researchers from the Radboudumc Amalia Children's Hospital will have the opportunity to present their research to colleagues from within and outside our own institution.  

Theme: Stepping into the Future

How will the next generation of research shape the future of child health? This year's theme explores the lifelong impact of childhood, the factors that influence future health outcomes, and the innovative therapies that are transforming pediatric healthcare.

  Friday, 29 January 2027 at 8.50h – 16.45h, with joint closing with drinks and bites afterwards.

  Van der Valk Hotel Nijmegen-Lent, Hertog Eduardplein 4, 6663 AN Nijmegen

• For whom?

  For all colleagues within Amalia Children’s Hospital, as well as everyone interested from wider regions, who wish to stay up to date about the research within Amalia Children’s Hospital. 

• Program and registration

  Registration is possible via this page. Registration is required and open until 1 December 2026. 
  Fee for medical specialists: €50. Fee for all other colleagues: €20. This includes drink and bites during the day.

• Contributing to this event: call for abstracts

  For this year’s edition we invite researchers from Radboudumc Amalia Children’s Hospital to send in an abstract about their research. Deadline for submission: 8 November 2026.

  We invite all PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and others involved in research within the Radboudumc Amalia Children's Hospital, or in related fields of pediatric healthcare, to submit an abstract. 

  You can submit an abstract, either for: 

  1. a poster presentation, or  
  2. a poster presentation AND short introductory pitch.  

  Please reserve the time slot 13:30–15:00. Selected presenters will have 3 minutes for their pitch, after which questions can be discussed during the poster session. Please note that the presentation time will be strictly monitored. 

  Abstracts (maximum 250 words, excluding title and authors/affiliations) should be written in English and include the following information: 

  • Title  
  • Authors and affiliations  
  • Background  
  • Methods  
  • Results  
  • Conclusion  

  Please submit your abstract, including your preference (poster with or without a pitch) no later than 8 November 2026 by sending it to Platform Research Amalia Children’s Hospital via platformonderzoek.akz@radboudumc.nl.

  You will be notified of the outcome by 20 November 2026. 

• Accreditation

  Accreditation will be opted for with NVK, NVOG,  “Accreditatiebureau Kwaliteitsregister V&V en Register Zorgprofessionals”, “Verpleegkundig Specialisten Register.”
