On Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 March, there will be two special screenings of the film Late shift for Radboudumc employees. Late shift follows the evening shift of a nurse in a hospital. In collaboration with InScience, we are organizing one screening at film theatre LUX and one at the Experience Center. After both screenings, there will be a discussion with our colleagues.
Participation is free of charge; however, we kindly ask you to reserve a seat in advance. You can do so here for the screening at LUX and here for the screening at the Experience Center.
Late shift: An evening shift on screen
The film Late shift (orginal and Dutch title: Heldin) premiered in September 2025 and received excellent reviews. Late shift follows nurse Flora during her evening shift on a surgical ward. The film shows how she expertly provides care for her patients, including all the unexpected questions and events that come with the job. The growing shortages in healthcare become clearly visible in this film.
Especially for all our colleagues, Radboudumc is organizing two special screenings of this film in collaboration with the InScience film festival. Whether you work in patient care, research, education, a staff department or the Service Company: come and see Late shift! The film illustrates both the challenges we face in the coming years and the beauty and complexity of nursing care for our patients.
Post-screening discussion
After the film, there will be a discussion of about twenty minutes with nurses and nursing directors, including Angelina van den Ende and Daniƫlle Kremers. The discussion will be moderated by Niels Crama, ophthalmologist and chair of the Radboud Grand Rounds.
Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to continue the conversation over drinks and snacks: on Wednesday at LUX and on Thursday at the Experience Center.
