Clara van Karnebeek worked as medical specialist and principal investigator in the field of paediatrics and biochemical genetics in the Emma Children’s Hospital, Amsterdam University Medical Centres.
She is the lead for the internationally funded TIDEX team and more recently she has taken on the role of program director of United for Metabolic Diseases (UMD, funded by Stichting Metakids and the VriendenLoterij, and supported by Foundation No 5). The UMD is a Dutch multidisciplinary partnership of 6 University Medical Centres in the Netherlands, that aims to perform innovative research to greatly improve the diagnosis, prevention, treatment and care of patients and families with an inherited metabolic disease.
