Join the OSCN organizing team!
OSCN still looking to expand their organizing team! They are looking for people who are enthusiastic about open science and reproducibility in all shapes and forms. Researchers from all fields and approaches (humanities, social sciences, empirical/theoretical, applied) are encouraged to join! If this sounds like you (or someone you know) please get in touch at contact@openscience-nijmegen.nlOpen Science Faculty Ambassadors
OSCN loves to get a better overview of what’s going on at the different faculties of Radboud University. For this purpose, they are looking for ambassadors at each faculty. These ambassadors represent their faculty in the OSCN by sharing with the organizing team what is going on at their faculty (i.e. events, courses, workshops) and whether there are any needs or issues with respect to adopting open science practices. Ambassadors can be researchers or research-affiliated staff (e.g. data stewards) who have a good network within their faculty. If you are interested or want more information you can get in touch with OSCN via contact@openscience-nijmegen.nlWeekly OSCN coffee breaks
It’s hard to stay in touch in Corona times. It’s especially hard to find time and opportunity to chat about your favorite topics, like Open Science! For that reason, OSCN organizes informal “virtual coffee breaks” every Thursday at 15:00. Anyone who is curious about the OSCN, has questions or ideas concerning open science, or wants to meet other open science enthusiasts is welcome to join these breaks. They will surely energise you for the rest of the afternoon! The first coffee break is on 28 May. If you’d like to join, sign up here to receive the password.June 16-18 - OHBM hackathon: virtual across time zones!
Since this year's meeting of the Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) has been moved online, also has the OHBM hackathon. The hackathon is independent of the conference itself and will take place online on June 16-18 organized around “hubs” in different time zones. There will be a "train-track" that teaches new skills and a "hack-track" where people work on projects together. Registration fee is $25.For more info about the format, see this link or this 7 minutes video.
June 21-23 - SIPS conference: virtual and free for everyone!
Originally, this year’s meeting of the Society for the Improvement of Psychological Science was scheduled to take place on June 21-23 in Victoria, Canada, but has been transformed into a fully online meeting that's free for everyone! Mark this event in your calendars. You can either propose and organize sessions yourself (now or later on the spot), or just take part in the sessions organized by other people. OSCN considers attending SIPS together. To get more people enthusiastic about this amazing conference, they will organize a virtual “SIPS pre-chat” on Wednesday June 10 at 15:00 in which they will chat about ideas and in which you can ask Eirini and Johannes (who attended last year’s conference) anything about SIPS! You can register here to receive the meeting link.More information: www.openscience-nijmegen.nl
