Within the Fit for the Future transition, the new Radboudumc Research Institute will start on 1 January 2023. Therefore, current RIHS and RIMLS PhD candidates will automatically become members of the new Radboudumc Graduate School per 1 January 2023. This means that the PhD trajectories in Hora Finita will automatically be transferred to the new Graduate School. The checkpoint cycle in Hora Finita will remain the same (see interactive infographic RIHS and RIMLS PhD trajectory).
We like to inform you about some policy changes with regard to the Graduate school per 1 January 2023.

Cover
The combined Radboud university medical center Radboud University logo should be placed on the back and the short Radboudumc logo on the spine of the cover according to predefined templates. If relevant, logos of other parties that were substantially involved in the PhD research can be added at the back.Templates are available on the website and will become available in the Radboudumc “Merkportaal” in the near future.
Portfolio
Please list your itemized training portfolio according to the predefined format in your PhD thesis. The Graduate School will support you in this. Details about the procedure can be found on the website.
Advanced Graduate School training certificate
NOTE: After approval of your manuscript in Hora Finita by your supervisor, you are requested to submit your portfolio via Hora Finita. The Graduate School will then decide whether you have completed all the necessary components in order to be awarded with the certificate. You will be informed of this decision in due course.
1. Requests until 31 December 2022
The RIHS and RIMLS procedures are available on the website.
2. Requests after 31 December 2022
Radboudumc strongly encourages PhD candidates to develop a tailor-made training program that promotes several competencies and transferable skills. Completed courses, workshops, attended lectures and symposia should be included in a portfolio and added to the PhD thesis. The Radboudumc Graduate School rewards PhD candidates who fulfil all requirements with an Advanced Graduate School training certificate. The conditions to qualify for an Advanced Graduate School training certificate are available on the website.
NOTE: Since these requirements differ from the current RIHS and RIMLS requirements for a certificate, there will be transition rules for current RIMLS and RIHS PhD candidates. The Graduate School will not be too strict.
Bonuses
The Graduate Schools of RIHS and RIMLS currently offer bonuses to encourage completion within the project time and the visibility of the branding of the research institutes. Recent evaluations of this bonus policy has learned that the intended goals have not been met. Therefore, the directors have decided to stop these bonus policies by the end of 2022, with the merge of these Graduate schools into the new Radboudumc Graduate school.
