Midsummer Night Event 2023 21 June

Last week, about 250 PhD candidates and postdocs joined the inspiring and tasty Midsummer Night Event.

This year’s Midsummer Night Event coincided with the tail end of the Research Strategy Day. During this day the newly developed research programs, which will replace the current research themes, were presented. PhD candidates and Postdocs had the opportunity to read up and discuss these new programs during a short poster session at the start of the Midsummer Night Event. Next, Research director Guillén Fernández updated the attendees on developments regarding the research programs. This was followed by a highly entertaining interactive lecture on Science communication by Gijs Meeusen who taught the attendees some theatrical tools to keep the audience awake. Afterwards there was a tasty barbeque until late night.
