'Corona still hits hard' Tim olde Hartman warns in De Gelderlander for the ongoing effects of the coronavirus

Regional newspaper De Gelderlander recently published an article about the state of affairs regarding corona. In the article, general practitioner and ELG researcher Tim olde Hartman indicates that although the corona measures have been lifted, we still have to deal with the phenomenon. Tim: 'On an individual level, corona can still have a major impact, and a revival of the virus is constantly lurking'.

Tim published his research into the consequences of the coronavirus in The Lancet magazine last year. Much research is being done into the coronavirus worldwide, but much still needs to be clarified - including the consequences of corona. Tim: 'What we see a lot now, for example, is mental health damage in young adults who have missed two years of their lives due to the lockdown. That has considerably more influence than you might think.' Together with colleagues from ELG, Tim is involved in setting up research into 'pandemic preparedness' to better prepare us for subsequent pandemics.
