The review paper “Elastin as a biomaterial for tissue engineering” published in the journal Biomaterials was rated “highly-cited article” by Web of Science (Thomson Reuters) as of May/June 2016.

The paper was written by Willeke Daamen as the first and Toin van Kuppevelt as the last author, theme Reconstructive and regenerative medicine. This highly cited paper received enough citations to place it in the top 1% of its academic field based on a highly cited threshold for the field and publication year.
