7 December 2016

Would you like to share your research with the world? Register yourself for the Radboud Talks pitch competition and tell your story in just three minutes for a live audience and jury. No worries, we will organize two workshops beforehand so you will be more than ready to go on stage. Preliminaries are planned on March 6 and 7 (on campus), and the grand finale will be held in LUX Nijmegen (city centre) on Tuesday night, March 21st.

Young Radboud researchers from every faculty, Radboudumc and the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics are welcome to join. The only prerequisites are that you are 40 years old or younger, that you are active as a researcher (PhD, postdoc or assistant professor) and that you are able to present your research in English, the lingua franca of the competition.

We will provide you with two trainings: one in storytelling and one in presentation skills:
  • Storytelling sessions will take place on Monday 6 February 14:00 – 16:00, Tuesday 7 February 10:00 – 12:00 and Thursday 9 February 12:00 – 14:00, so keep one of these moments free in your agenda.
  • Presentation trainings will take place on Wednesday 15 February 13:00 – 17:00 and Thursday 16 February 09:00 – 13:00, so keep one of these moments free in your agenda as well.
The maximum number of participants is 32 (after this amount is reached we will work with a reserve list). Preliminaries will take place in the Red Room in the Trigon building (Donders Institute) on Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 March, both days between 16:00 and 19:00 approximately. From each of these two preliminaries, a maximum of 5 participants will continue to the Radboud Talks finale in LUX on March 21st.. One winner will be chosen out of the finalists, who will receive a personal science communication budget of 1.000 Euros.

Why participate?
