Carlijn Hooijmans assistant professorDr. Carlijn Hooijmans obtained her PhD in 2008, which focussed on preventive dietary effects on the development of Alzheimer disease in animal models.
Carlijn currently works as an assistant professor at the department of Anesthesiology, pain and palliative care, and the Department for health evidence unit SYRCLE (SYstematic Review Centre for Laboratory animal Experimentation, www. SYRCLE.nl).
Her mission is to improve the translational value of of preclinical animal studies, using systematic review and meta-analysis as key tools.
Carlijn is mainly involved in developing methodology for the conduct of systematic review and meta-analysis of animal studies, but also provides coaching and training to others.
At the department of Anesthesiology, pain and palliative care, Carlijn uses her skills to obtain more insight in the effects of anaesthesia and analgesia on metastases and neuropathic pain.
