The research activities of Joris Lemson are focussed on hemodynamics. This consists of hemodynamic measurements and the use of new technologies but specifically hemodynamics in children. Joris Lemson completed his thesis (advanced hemodynamic monitoring in critically illl children) in 2010 and has continued this research since. Studies are clinically whenever possible but are also done in the animals lab. The initial focus on validating monitoring technologies, necessary for clinical and experimental work is now changing to tissue perfusion, oxygenation and basic physiology. Joris is chairman of the section of hemodynamics of the European Society of Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care.
