Juul Houwen is a General Practitioner in training and PhD student at the department of Primary and Community Care. His research focuses on Medically Unexplained Symptoms (MUS) in primary care. The aim of the study is to develop a Clinical Assessment as Therapy in managing Medically Unexplained Symptoms (CATMUS) intervention, a theory- and evidence-based effective communication intervention for General Practitioners (GPs), which is also acceptable for patients with MUS and feasible in daily gener.

Education

Juul Houwen studied medicine at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, and received his diploma in 2010. He started his PhD in 2015 at the department Primary and Community Care at the Radboudumc, within the Radboud Institute for Health Sciences. In 2013 he started with his general practitioner training.
