Dr. PFM Stalmeier is a senior researcher at the Radboud Medical Center Nijmegen, the Netherlands. He graduated in experimental physics, and received his PhD on topics in cognitive psychology and mathematical psychology. His interests are in Quality of Life and utility assessment, human decision making and information processing, and in patient involvement in medical decision making (patient decision aids, shared decision making, patient-doctor communication, patient preferences). His research projects are on decision aids, utility assessment, and Quality of Life. My aim is to bring open, honest, and transparent information to patients facing medical decisions, and to facilitate patient involvement. Decision aids are instruments to achieve just that.
