News items Increase in deepfakes also affects healthcare providers

15 January 2026

Recently, there has been a clear increase in the number of deepfakes circulating online. Healthcare providers are also increasingly falling victim to these misleading images.

Deepfakes are videos that are manipulated using artificial intelligence (AI). This involves swapping faces or imitating voices, making it appear as if someone is saying or doing something that never actually happened.

Although deepfakes are completely fake, they are often almost indistinguishable from the real thing. This makes this development worrying, especially now that healthcare professionals are also being affected.

Protecting our employees

We believe it is important to inform you about this. In addition, we naturally want to protect our employees against this. Experience has shown that it is difficult to intercept all deepfakes. That is why we are asking for your help.

If you have any doubts about the authenticity of a video featuring one of our healthcare employees, or if you have encountered a deepfake of one of our healthcare providers, please report it to us using this form. This will enable us to take appropriate action.

Check it first, before you trust it!
