Would you like to share your research with the world? Register yourself for the pitch competition Radboud Talks and tell your story in just three minutes for a live audience and jury. No worries, we will organize two workshops beforehand so you will be more than ready to go on stage. Preliminaries are planned on 11 March and 13 March 2019 (on campus), and the grand finale will be held in LUX Nijmegen (city centre) on Monday night, 25 March 2019. Application deadline: 31 January 2019.

Young Radboud researchers from every faculty, Radboudumc and the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics are welcome to join. The only prerequisites are that you are 40 years old or younger, that you are active as a researcher, PhD, postdoc or assistant professor. You may choose to  present your research in Dutch or in English.

Trainings

We will provide you with two trainings: one in storytelling and one in presentation skills.

Storytelling sessions will take place on:
Wednesday 13 February: 09.00 – 12.00 hrs.             Location: TBA

Thursday 14 February: 
14.00 – 17.00 hrs.                 Location: TBA

Presentation trainings will take place on:
Wednesday 20 February: 13.00 – 17.00 hrs.          Location TBA

Thursday 21 February
: 09.00 – 13.00 hrs.              Location TBA

The maximum number of participants is 32. After this amount is reached we will work with a reserve list.

Preliminaries and final

Preliminaries will take place on:       
Monday 11 March: 13.00 – 16.00 hrs. approximately   
Location: chapel, Berchmanianum
Wednesday 13 March: 13.00 – 16.00 hrs. approximately
Location: Red Room, Donders Institute

From each of these two preliminaries, a maximum of 4 participants will continue to the Radboud Talks finale.

The finale with a total of 8 contestants will take place on: Monday 25 March, location: LUX.

One winner will be chosen out of the finalists by a jury of science communication experts. The winner will receive a personal science communication budget of 1.000 Euro.

Radboud Talks is based on FameLab: an international contest for young scientists eager to share their scientific story with the world. Participating in Radboud Talks does not include you in the FameLab competition, but will however provide an excellent preparation.
