About Elke de Jong

Prof. Elke de Jong is is a graduate of the Medical School of the Radboudumc. She completed her dermatology residency in the same hospital. The department has a strong focus on psoriasis research. She was head of the out-patient department during 20 years. She is the author or co-author of approximately 200 publications and guided or assisted 19 research fellows in composing their thesis. Her main research topic in dermatology is psoriasis and autoimmune disease. Effectiveness and safety of systemic treatments for psoriasis are her interest, in particular biologics. She established since 2005 a continuous registry on biologic treatment in daily practice for psoriasis, BioCAPTURE. At present research is expanded with developing and application of biomarker tools to guide personalized treatment as well as preventing the development of psoriasis comorbidities.

She has served among others as board member and secretary of the National Board of the Dutch Association of Dermatologists (NVDV), as member and treasurer of the board of the Dutch and Belgian CME Dermatology and Venereology (SNNDV), is president of the national advisory board for immunodermatoses, and was involved in the development of national guideline vasculitis and national and European guidelines systemic treatment of psoriasis. Since 2016 she is appointed as Professor of Inflammatory skin diseases at the Radboudumc and Radboud University Nijmegen.
