Paul Span is associate professor at the Radiotherapy & OncoImmunology (ROI) laboratory of the department of Radiation Oncology. He is vice-chair of the Women’s Cancer research theme, and chair of the PathoBiology Group of the European Organisation for the Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). He is PI of the Radboud Biobank Breast Cancer, prospectively collecting biomaterial from patients treated for breast cancer at the Radboudumc. He has over 200 peer-reviewed papers (h-factor 43), mostly on breast cancer, and has been thesis advisor in 8 PhD studies. The work of Paul Span at the Department of Radiation Oncology of the Radboud university medical center is focused on the prognostic and predictive consequences of molecular biological aspects of tumor cells and tissue in their relation to the microenvironment.
