About Tessel Galesloot
I work as a staff scientist in genetic epidemiology and my higher aim is to improve quality of genetic epi research by using sound and valid methods. I work together with researchers who know the ins and outs of a certain trait or disease in order to optimally combine their expertise on content with my expertise on methods. Currently, I am supervising PhD candidates involved in genetic epi research of bladder cancer prognosis, thyroid hormones, age-related macular degeneration and iron metabolism. Next to that, I teach (genetic) epidemiology to bachelor and master students and I am active in national and international professional associations.
