Dolf Wittkämper, Business Developer from the valorization department and Stefan Hummelink, Technical Physician Specialist from the plastic surgery department who recently launched the spin-off Exolumen, helped understanding the possible steps to take and provided a learning case.
Communication
Matthijs Kox: Effective communication in professional settings
Whether you're presenting your work, engaging with colleagues, or negotiating with clients, communication is key. Matthijs Kox, scientific press officer & senior researcher at Radboudumc, offered hands-on tips for improving your communication style, ensuring you make a lasting impact
Drug regulation and Safety
College ter Beoordeling van Geneesmiddelen: Assessing the benefits and risks of drug efficacy
When a pharmaceutical company wants to market a drug, it submits the results of years of research to the MEB for review. How do we handle such a huge dossier? And more importantly, how do we assess whether these results guarantee that a drug is both effective and safe? MEB assessors and regulatory project leaders gave an insight into their work: assessing a new drug is not a matter of ticking off a checklist. It is a complex balancing of benefits and risks, performed by absolute experts. Participants were challenged to think about real-world examples.
Networking
Frank Smallegange: How to become a pro at networking - Networking is one of the most crucial skills for career advancement
Frank guided attendees through practical strategies on how to set goals for yourself, how to approach someone, how to break into a group, how to ‘seal the deal’ (get a meeting) so that you can move on to meet new people and how to get away gracefully from a person or conversation that does not contribute to your goals. A fun and hands-on lecture.
Upcoming edition 31 October 2025
