Last week, around 180 PhD candidates and postdocs came together at Radboudumc for the Midsummer Night Event 2024. The program started after the Research Strategy Day and the award ceremony where the Supervision award and the Envision award were presented.
The evening kicked off with a lecture titled “The Doctor of 2051: A Journey into the Future of Healthcare,” presented by Maroeska Rovers, Scientific Director of TechMed Centre Twente and Professor of Medical Technology & Innovation at Radboudumc, along with Martijn de Groot from Radboudumc Health Innovation Labs.
The lecture delved into the transformative potential of medical technology, from e-health to artificial intelligence (AI) and surgical robots. The speakers engaged the audience in an interactive discussion, inviting participants to share their visions for the future of healthcare and how they would develop medical technology to improve care.
After the lecture, attendees enjoyed drinks and a BBQ, making the most of the wonderful weather. The sunny atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for socializing and networking.
