RCG Science Meeting with June Ereño Orbea

The Radboud Consortium for Glycoscience (RCG) organizes a series of seminars on various glycoscience-related topics. We regularly invite speakers from other research institutions to exchange ideas and research directions.

The Ereño-Orbea lab is is focused on unraveling molecular mechanisms of antibodies and lectins, particularly exploring Siglec glycoimmune checkpoint receptors for next-generation therapies in diseases like cancer. Using integrative molecular and structural biology and biophysical techniques, they unravel the complexities of antibody-Siglec and glycan-Siglec interactions, laying the foundation for purpose-fit therapeutic molecules through protein engineering and chemical biology. The title of her talk will be: 'Targeting Siglec–Sialoglycan Interactions: Structural Insights and Therapeutic Opportunities'.
