With its new Research Learning and Education (RLE) funding program, the Radboudumc Health Academy (RHA) is making targeted investments in research on education and learning. The program aims to strengthen a sustainable research community, foster collaboration, and support research that contributes to the ongoing improvement of education and learning at Radboudumc.
For this first application round, funding is available for up to five Senior Education Groups. Successful groups will receive funding for a four-year period, with an anticipated start date of 1 January 2027.
Who can apply?
This call is exclusively open to Senior Education Groups (RLE Senior). A Senior Education Group is a multidisciplinary team of education professionals that is demonstrably active in research on education and learning within Radboudumc.
The group must include at least two Leaders in Education (LIEs) and operate within a coherent research program aligned with the strategic vision for education and learning research. In addition, the group must demonstrate collaboration both within and outside Radboudumc, generate scientific and educational output, and actively contribute to talent development and team science. The principal applicant must hold the LIE designation.
How will applications be assessed?
Applications will be reviewed by an independent external review committee and assessed on the basis of:
- The scientific quality and feasibility of the research program.
- Alignment with the strategic research themes of the Radboudumc Health Academy.
- The expected impact on education and learning.
- Collaboration within and outside Radboudumc and contribution to team science.
- Talent development within the research group.
- The sustainability of the research line and its potential for securing external follow-on funding.
Important information about the call
- In this first round, a maximum of five applications will be funded.
- Budget: up to €400,000 per application (4-year project period).
- Application deadline: 30 September 2026. This deadline is final and will not be extended.
- Anticipated project start date: 1 January 2027.
