At the recent FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE 1st International Molecular Biosciences PhD & PostDoc Conference, Mariano Molina, theme Women's cancers, won a short talk award for his presentation "Temporal composition of the cervicovaginal microbiome correlates with high-risk HPV infection outcomes: a longitudinal cohort study."

Mariano presented his work describing the association between the composition of the cervicovaginal microbiome of hrHPV-positive women with the infection outcomes six months later, which is important in the identification of early biomarkers for hrHPV infection progression that could assist current cervical cancer screening programs.
