A new two-year, English-taught master’s program in Medical Data Science will start in 2027. The program is jointly offered by Radboudumc and Radboud University’s Faculty of Science and prepares students to work at the intersection of data science, artificial intelligence, and healthcare.
Students will develop technical and analytical skills and learn how to apply them in clinical practice and biomedical research. The program also addresses the ethical, societal, legal, and practical aspects of using AI and data science in healthcare.
The curriculum focuses on applications in areas such as medical imaging, omics data, and data generated through medical interventions. Close collaboration between Radboudumc and the Faculty of Science provides an interdisciplinary learning environment in which students work across data science and biomedical disciplines.
Who can apply?
The program is intended for students with a relevant university bachelor’s degree, including Computing Science, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Technology, Bioinformatics, or Mathematics.
Students from fields such as Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Molecular Life Sciences, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Technical Medicine may also be eligible if they have sufficient prior knowledge of programming and data science. Relevant pre-master’s courses or minors may also provide a route to admission.

The program will initially admit up to 30 students per year, with plans to increase capacity to a maximum of 48 students in later years.
