We offer advanced preclinical and molecular imaging – including in vivo, ex vivo, and postmortem imaging of both human tissue and small animal models –, and behavioral analyses.
We uniquely integrate high-resolution imaging technologies with behavioral and cognitive testing facilities on one floor. This combination enables researchers to correlate structural, functional, and molecular imaging data with behavioral outcomes, making us one of the most comprehensive preclinical research environments in Europe.
As a mixed node of Euro-BioImaging combining biomedical imaging and microscopy, we offer both preclinical and molecular imaging capabilities. RTC Preclinical imaging is the only facility in the Netherlands housing more than eight imaging modalities under one roof, supporting longitudinal, multimodal, and translational studies.
PRIME
This RTC also operates under the already nationally and internationally recognized name "PRIME" (abbreviation of Preclinical imaging center).

[If you have multiple types of expertises and services, you can use multiple accordion items to showcase each one of them. Or you can cluster expertises and services by theme within different accordion items. Preferably, you give very short information for each expertise here and you link to a bigger web page about that service, if available. But you can also choose to elaborate in full on a specific expertise or service within an accordion item.]

We actively collaborate with academic institutions, clinical departments, and industry across Europe and beyond. Our infrastructure supports a wide range of translational research projects.
More than 30% of the studies conducted within the center involve external collaborators, reflecting its commitment to open-access science and interdisciplinary innovation. As part of the Molecular Imaging Dutch Node of Euro-BioImaging, we offer structured access to facilities for researchers across Europe.
Collaboration opportunities include:
- Joint research proposals and consortia;
- Contract research and service agreements;
- Shared use of imaging and behavioral platforms;
- Co-development of imaging protocols and analysis pipelines.
Researchers can apply for access via the Euro-BioImaging portal, or contact our RTC to discuss project ideas and feasibility.
