The research activities have been concentrated in three research institutes, each with a leading scientist as research director. Together, these institutes cover the entire range of research at the Radboud university medical center, from molecule to man to population:
Donders Center for Neuroscience
The mission of the Donders Center for Neuroscience is to carry out world class research that advances our knowledge on how the nervous system develops and functions and how it is altered by disease, injury, genetic, and environmental factors like stress. This research institute is part of the interfaculty Donders Instutute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour.
Radboud Institute for Health Sciences
The Radboud Institute for Health Sciences aims to facilitate, through scientific training and research, essential successive steps in translating early biomedical discoveries into applied clinical practice and public health.
Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences
The Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences aims to generate basic knowledge in molecular medical science and to translate this knowledge into clinical applications, into the development of diagnostics and into the treatment of patients through translational research programs.
