Research at the Gastroenterology department is mainly translational and focuses on patients with gastrointestinal disorders. The research is directly related to the clinical treatment lines inflammatory bowel disease, oncology, hepatology or intestinal failure and (parenteral) nutrition.
Department Medical Oncology
The Medical Oncology department aims to development new diagnostic tools and treatments in order to improve the life expectancy of cancer patients, while preserving a good quality of life. Our research focuses on immunotherapy, translational medical oncology and experimental clinical research.
Department Medical Psychology
Psychological factors play an important role in the development and course of various somatic disorders. The general objective of our research is to improve the quality of diagnostics and treatment of patients with somatic disorders with respect to psychological determinants and consequences.
Department Obstetrics and Gynaecology
We research cervical and ovarian cancer, pelvic floor disorders, maternal illnesses and male and female infertility. We study the application of preventative measures that could lead to less premature births and deaths, improve survival of gynecological cancer and decrease pelvic floor disorders.
