Markus Loeven of the department of Nephrology (group Johan van der Vlag), theme Renal disorders, has won the best poster award of the 16th European Meeting on Complement in Human Disease that was held in Copenhagen.

His poster “Heparan sulfate-modifying enzymes differentially determine factor H/factor H-related protein binding to glomerular endothelial cells” was selected as the best from more than 200 posters presented.

New insight into the effect of hydroxychloroquine undermines its use in corona

11 June 2020 Researchers at Radboud university medical center have discovered an as yet unknown effect of hydroxychloroquine. Raphael Duivenvoorden was interviewed in the program Op1 at NPO1 to elaborate on the findings. It seems unlikely that chloroquine has beneficial effect in corona infections. read more
